These seven MCP servers come from the company behind each product, and each one does a job that coding agents need to do every day. GitHub's server works with your repos, and Playwright drives a browser. Context7 feeds current library docs into your prompt, while Sentry, Cloudflare, Supabase and Notion connect your agent to the accounts you already use for work.
How did we pick these MCP servers?
We used one rule. The company that makes the product must publish the server and keep it up. We read each server's own GitHub page on October 14, 2026, and we grouped the servers by the job they do, in no ranked order. SkillTrove has no install counts or stars for MCP servers, so no server on this page gets a score or a rank.
Which MCP server works with GitHub?
GitHub's MCP server can read your code and manage pull requests. It can also watch your GitHub Actions runs. GitHub hosts a remote version, and it also ships a local version that runs in Docker. In Claude Code, you add the remote server with a GitHub personal access token.

Which MCP server tests a web page?
Microsoft's Playwright MCP server lets your agent drive a browser. It reads each page through accessibility snapshots. Screenshots are not needed. You need Node.js 18 or newer on your machine before you add it, since the server runs locally through npx.

The Playwright team points coding agents to Playwright CLI with skills, which it says uses fewer tokens because the agent skips large tool lists.
Which MCP server gives my agent current library docs?
Context7, from Upstash, pulls the docs for the exact library version you use. It works two ways. Its ctx7 setup command can install a skill that calls the ctx7 CLI, or it can register an MCP server. Either way, you need an API key. To connect by hand, point your agent at the address below and send the key as a Bearer token. The ctx7 CLI needs Node.js 22.13 or newer.

Which MCP server helps debug errors?
Sentry's MCP server is built for coding agents that work with a person in the loop, and it focuses on debugging. Sentry hosts it. In Claude Code, you add the server and then sign in from your shell with a second command, as shown here.

Which MCP servers work with cloud and database accounts?
Cloudflare publishes several MCP servers. The one it recommends is the Cloudflare API server, which reaches across Cloudflare's APIs, and a separate docs server answers questions about Cloudflare's products.

Supabase's MCP server lets your agent manage tables, fetch project config and query data. Read Supabase's security guide first. Then you can limit the server to one project and make it read only. To do that, add project_ref and read_only=true to the address.

Which MCP server works with Notion?
Use Remote Notion MCP. Notion's older local server on GitHub is no longer maintained, and its README sends you to the remote one.

How do I add an MCP server to my agent?
It depends on the agent. Claude Code uses claude mcp add, Codex uses codex mcp add, and Cursor reads servers from .cursor/mcp.json. Our MCP servers guide covers the setup steps and scopes for each one.

Are MCP servers safe to add?
A server can act on your accounts, so treat it like any app you give a login. Check who made it first. Use read-only modes and narrow tokens where the server offers them.
Should I use an MCP server or a skill?
Use an MCP server when your agent needs to reach a new tool or account that it cannot reach today, such as a database or an issue tracker. A skill fits when the tools are already there. Our skills vs MCP page explains the difference.
Why is the MCP reference server list not here?
The Model Context Protocol project says its reference servers are examples, and it does not mean them for production. This list only covers servers that a product's maker publishes for real use.
