Claude skill collections on GitHub

Five GitHub repos gather Claude skills in one place. They are anthropics/skills, ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills, VoltAgent/awesome-agent-skills, K-Dense-AI/scientific-agent-skills and hesreallyhim/awesome-claude-code. Each entry below uses the repo's own words, and it gives the license and the skill count where the repo states them.

What is in anthropics/skills?

This is Anthropic's public repo for Agent Skills. It describes a skill as a folder of steps and files that Claude loads when a task needs it. Many of its skills are open source under Apache 2.0. SkillTrove lists 20 of them.

What is in ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills?

It is a curated list. The list is under the Apache License 2.0, but each skill folder can carry its own license. It is our largest source by far. Of the 1,361 skills on SkillTrove, 864 come from this one repo, which is more than all of our other sources put together.

What is in VoltAgent/awesome-agent-skills?

The repo says it holds over 1,000 skills from dev teams and the community, for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and more. SkillTrove does not list skills from it.

What is in K-Dense-AI/scientific-agent-skills?

It is built for science. The repo says it has 177 skills and uses the MIT License. Each skill can still name a different license in the license field of its SKILL.md file, so read that field before you reuse it. People often search for it as claude scientific skills, but the repo's name is scientific-agent-skills.

What is in hesreallyhim/awesome-claude-code?

It is a hand-picked list of resources for Claude Code, so it covers much more than skills. No license is given.

How do I install a skill from one of these repos?

To install one, copy the skill's folder from the repo into the skills folder that your agent reads, in the project or your home folder. Our install guide walks through each step, and the agents guide lists the folder for every tool.

FAQ

Can I reuse a skill from one of these lists?

Check the license. ComposioHQ and K-Dense both say that one skill in the repo can have a license that differs from the repo as a whole.

Which of these does SkillTrove list?

SkillTrove lists skills from 8 GitHub repos. Two of them, anthropics/skills and ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills, are on this page.

Why does a count on this page differ from the repo?

Each count here is what the repo said on the day we checked, and repos change, so the live number may be higher or lower.
